AC400 Data in AC800M
Have a beautiful nice day,
We use a System 800xA with AC400 and AC800M connectivity.
How is it possible, in AC800M access data from AC400?
We are looking for a solution without IO connection.
Is it possible to post an example?

Here is an example of the LESS DESIRED property transfer method to get AC400 data over to AC 800M:
- It has relatively speaking, very high overhead compared to other methods.
- It involves one or more Microsoft Operating systems + application services running there (=MTBF is much shorter)
- Destination OPC server must cope with the load, or else overruns will occur
- The maximum transfer frequency and bandwidth is relatively poor
I would not trust Property Transfer with delivering a critical interlock signal...
The picture shows how a Property Transfer Definition has been put on a Diagram of an AC 800M. The transfer lifts an MB300 AI value over to a real variable on the diagram.
The property transfer expression syntax is:

Hint: the complete path can be easily copied from the source object's (Control) Structure reference aspect, just right click it and select Details...
Hint: Complete path is optional, but may be required if the naked object name is not unique within the system. Use the Find Tool to tell if the object or path syntax delivers one and only one match, then it is OK to use in the expression syntax.
Hint: aspect name is optional, but very recommended to avoid having the system to dig among all aspects on the object before finding the desired property. If property name is not unique on the object, aspect name is required.
The preferred option is to install a CI855 MB300 communication module to the AC 800M controller. The CI855 can exchange datasets with Advant/Master controllers. This will sustain a 24x365 data flow and allow fast and voluminous transfers.
Its also possible to use some OPC property transfer method to read from the AC400 OPC server and write to the AC 800M OPC server. This method is not preferred since it is less reliable and has much higher overhead (you can forget to have any fast transfers with this method).
Then there are fieldbuses... MODBUS, Profibus, etc. but I guess they are too troublesome to get working, but once well made should offer a fast & reliable connection.
I give the CI855 my warmest recommendations.
