Basic History service automatically restarts every 15-20 minutes because of "Out of Memory"?
using 5.0 SP2 Rev D 800xA
I had a problem that when we access long term trends for example 1 month or 2 month then some times it will time out and the status will become red.
I started investigating this and found that the Basic history service on IM52 is crashing every 15-20 minutes. When I checked in task manager on IM52 I found the the cpu usgae for history service was continously around 12% and the memory was continously going up till it reachs the 2GB and then is crashes.
I checked the windows events and that also confirmed that service crashed because it went out of memory.
Can anyone of you please suggest on how to fix this?
The first question is why is a "Basic" history service running on an "IM" node ? Basic History should run on the connectivity servers. If you have an IM then it should be collecting from a Hierarchy of logs.
What are you storing in this Basic History service ?
How Fast and How long ?
How much are you reading from this history service ( eg external historian, IM collection rate etc)
How long has this problem been happening ?
Did you modify your history settings recently ?
