Is it possible to replace PM864 to PM866 in online mode?
We have dual redundant PCS Node using PM864 controllers. The current application load of the PCS node is very high and hence we are trying to upgrade controller hardware to PM866. The hardware replacement / upgrade has to be done in online mode.
When i am trying to replace hardware for the backup CPU it is not synchronising with the primary CPU. May be due to firmware mismatch?
Has anyone done this type of job before? Any help will be much appreciated.

The controller type has to be changed in Control Builder and the code must be compiled for the controller CPU and memory type. You will not be able to download code for a PM866 into a PM864 or vice versa,
So No, you cant do this upgrade on-line. And you will probably need to cold start the contoller when you do upgrade.
If the controller load is "high" but everything else is working then the best advice I can give you is "If it ain't broke, Dont touch it !". Leave it running untill you can do the job properly.

I don't see chance to upgrade AC800M online. You must shutdown production.
Before CPU poweroff, pay special attention to variables which works as constants but they are left by mistake with attribute Retain. Modify these variables to attribute Coldretain.
