How to open and use internal on-board PU515 or PU515A engineering board with another computer
Hello,
We have a "MasterAid 220 (MA220 )" and an "Advant Station 120" industrial computer in our product line. MA220 is on-line and connected to the DSPC 172 CPU but Advant Station 120 is not connected and is available. Totally we have 4 CPUs that are connected in a MB300 network in the product line. I have a few questions. Could you help me please to understand all of their answers?
1-
1-a) Can we connect the Advant Station 120 to another CPU and work with MA220 and Advant Station 120 Simultaneously?
1-b) We need to Simultaneously DUMP the DataBase and PC sorce code of the CPUs and save their source codes on the Advant Station 120 's Floppy disk drive while MA220 's working. Is it possible?
2-
2-a) We need to connect a Control Builder A 1.3 software that is installed on a Windows 7 to the mentioned CPU and we have No access to the PU410 unit. According to the MA220's behind picture attached I guess that a PU515 or PU515A engineering board is in the MA220 or Advant Station 120. Is it possible to open it from MA220 or Advant Station 120 and install it on my personal computer's mother board PCI slot?
2-b) Is it necessary to install any driver on Windows 7 or this device is recognized automatically by windows 7?
2-c) If driver is needed can I find it's files on the MS-DOS based MA220 or Advant Station 120?
2-d) If no do you have it's setup file? Could you share it?
Best Wishes,
Mojtaba

1a As log as you have onlien builder on MA220 and AS120 you can connect to two different cpu's not to the same cpu.

2a Why is the pu410 not working? It it's designed to work with CBA 1.3. The RTA board in you engineering PC's might be of older connection type ISA,EISA 5v PCI. So if it fits you will only know when you open it up. I wouldn't open the MA220 that board is likely to old.
The board form the AS120 migth work.
2b A PU515A would work with CBA1.3, you only need to reinstall with the correct RTA board type during installation of the software.
As I said our AS120 is probably older than MA220 because it's CPU is weeker.
I didn't say that PU410 is not working, however I said that we don't have an external PU410 unit. So we wanna use the internal PU515 (Or maybe PU515A) RTA board instaled in the MasterAid 220 or Advant Station 120.
1- I asked that is it possible to disconnect PU515 from old MA220 or AS120 systems and connect it to a personal computer's PCI slot and use it to link our CPU to a new computer's CBA software?
2-And another question is that if there is a PU515 (or PU515A) RTA board on the MA220 or AS120, why according to the following pictures of MA220's behind ports and PU515 's ports we can not see a pair of CBA 15 pin serial ports in the MA220's picture?
