PM865 HI and SM811: CPU need to restart after auto switchover
Dear all,
My system Include 02 PM865 and 02 SM811 (as figure).
I had pluged only one CN1 ethernet cable on every PM865 CPUs (CN2 be disable for test).
When I tried to test redundancy function my system behave as below. It is not as I thought:
When I unplug CN1 ethernet or upplug Optical Module bus from Primary CPU, system automatically switchover to Backup CPU and system working normally. But last Primary CPU that I unplug cable go into error status.
-> Check Controller log:
This PM has been intentionally stopped.
Reason:
-FPGA stall timmer has expired (Acknowledged)
-Safety shutdown ordered from SM, check SM log for detailed reason.
Press init button or remove power to restart...
-> check applicaion on CPU, it say "no program".
In some doccument say that when CPU be in reset status, all programm to be erase!
So, I have to press init button to get system working back normally.
My questions:
1.
Anyone have experience about HI system help me that my system working is normally or error? Or how to config my system do not go down when unplug cable as abow, or when plug cable again my CPU automatically go to standby status (do not need press init button).
2.
How to switch Primary/reset backup CPU from HMI instead of manual switch from Control Builder M?
Thank so much!

Hi,
The behavior is alright, as expected (if I remember till SV 5.1, not sure about SV 6.0). When you dont have redundant netowrk and the primary network failed (or in this case plugged out) from Primary PM then switchover takes place in PM865 and standby becomes primary. And the controller (old primary)accepts a safety shutdown. This behavior is as expected. And you can't give controller reset from HMI/PPA or CBM in PM865 HI controller, for safety concern (however, you can give system reset command for other PA controllers like PM866/864). You have to use init button from the controller manually.
Refer PM Redundancy in CBM online help.
