AC800M and QUVS 300 communication
At a site, a charging system weighs and distributes material to the furnace via conveyor belts and skips hoist systems.
The importance of the accuracy of the batched material is highly important to the stability and throughput of the blast furnace.
Various mixes of ferrous and coke materials are individually “weighed” before being dispatched to the furnace.
The individual weighers are of ABB (ASEA) design and build, these MP100 units are to remain in their current configuration.
Information from and to the individual weighers is sent/received from an ABB AC450 controller; again this unit is to be retained in its current configuration.
Another ABB product, the redundant Mp200 controller is employed to act as an interface between the main charging controller and the MP100 weighing units.
The Mp200 is able to communicate on two different buses, thus there are redundant communications to the main charging ABB Ac450 controller on Master bus 300, and two single “daisy chain” links to two separate groups of weighers, via the master bus 100.
ABB has to provide a “system” to replace the entire MP200 unit. The preferred solution will utilise an ABB 800M redundant plc, which can provide both the required communication buses.
The client requires redundancy at most levels if practicable
Is there a protocol which supports AC800M as the gateway for AC450 and the MP100 weighers available?
