800xA History - Log Configuration definition - storage period not visible
In IM you could define how long the data would be maintained in the database. There is no immediately visible definition of how long 800xA history will maintain data. If someone has defined this before please let me know.

800xA History is designed to handle long term data storage using RTDB which is a proprietary database optimised for raw data storage and buffering. So the 800xA History database sizing can be estimate during the system design. You can use 800xA History 2.0 System Size Estimation Sheet (2PAA111220 ) available in ABB Solution Bank
And also RTDB database disk size can be increase if you like to store more.
By default CurrentHistory Database table size will be set to 365 days for storage.
I hope this helps you
History storage data(Hard disk capacity) depends on the log sampling & storage period,Number of logs based on the calculation algorithm against screen resolution.
So you must do some simple maths before creating the DB
Example for 1680*1024 resolution screen with Log sample time=1s & storage time=2d , Number of logs=1 then
Disk used for storing this data=((24*60*60)/log sample time(1s))*24*number of logs(2)* number of days(2d)/(1680*1024)
