Connect 3rd Party OPC Client to 800xA OPC Server
I've written an application that will be used to only read data from a local DCS system via the sites 800xA OPC server.
Everything I've read in this knowledge store indicates that a client license is needed for my application to be able to get any data from the 800xA.
The only thing I haven't been able to ascertain yet is who or what provides this license - is it the owner of the 800xA OPC server (via some local registration process) or do I need to purchase a license for my 3rd party application?
- Or is it something akin to assigning something like read write permissions to a user account on a local area network?

There is currently no firm license enforcements for OPC client access to 800xA.
However, there is a license item in the price book that *shall* be ordered in required quantity.
The enforcement may appear in the next version or revision of 800xA - so please prepare to have a license when the enforcement becomes implemented.
