How to reestablish connection from Alarm Manager to Event Collector - Advant Master
We are experiencing a problem where we receive no alarms or events from one of the MB300 connectivity servers (MB300 networks in the Control Structure). The problem is in and 800xA SV5.0 SP2 system. This is a test system that is a "copy" of a production system.
After some investigation I found the following:
1. It is not possible to configure the RTA board from Configuration Wizard, and it seems the Event Collector service is added manually and not using the Configuration Wizard.
2. By using AfwAppLogViewer I found that there is no connection between the Alarm Manager and the Event Collector in the connectivity. The Alarm Manager is not listed as Backend and AS not as BackendNode in the Event Collector service.
The Alarm Manager service reports that the Event Collector, on the concerned CS, is disconnected.
Is there any way that this can be fixed by reconnecting the Event Collector to the Alarm Manager?
Any other possibilities or can this only be fixed by restoring a backup.
Thanks in advance
There is always some manual configuration required to connect the AE services to the MB300.
The Configuration wizard is used to add a new RTA board to the connectivity server. Run the wizard on the connectivity server where the RTA board is installed or the PU410 is connected.
Once the RTA board is added to the connectivity server, configure the network and node addresses and load the custome Event Treats into the RTA board. Back up the RTA board.
To get event colection working, add a new Event Collector Service *Group* under the *Existing* "Event Collector" Service. If you made a new event collector service, then you should remove this. Add Service providers - ie the connectivity server(s) - to the new Service Group and connect each to the local AE server for MB300 on that connectivity server.
The Alarm Manager is already connected to the existing Event Collector Service.
The path for an event message is something like AC400->MB300 Netowrk -> RTA Board -> Service Provider -> Service Group -> Event Collector Service -> Alarm Manager Service.
Does your backup system have any RTA (PU515/PU410) and Advant Master controllers connected?
The OPC DA Connector and Event Collector services will remain in synchronizing, etc status until the RTA is reporting at least one neighbour on the MB300 network. The Alarm Manager will not connect until these services reports themselves in "Service" state.
The Alarm Manager will automatically connect all Event Collector services configured in the Service Structure, no additional configuration required.
Please share drawing of your setup and a screen capture of your System Status viewer in the Service Structure with Event Collector, OPC DA Connector and Alarm Manager services fully expanded.
