data types: mot01_InPar & mot01_OutPar
Sir, I just started working in the automation field, so I am having a lots of doubts which might sounds silly but i find myself lost in those. so please help me out. i was reading about data types in control builder then i found this thing saying something about Mot01_InPar and Mot01_OutPar, what exactly does it mean, which is not clear to me. So please provide some supporting document (if any) to have the better understanding of data types.
>" I just started working in the automation field,"
OK, so lets start by assuming you know the basics about programming in some computer langage like Java, C, Visual Basic ?
>" i was reading about data types in control builder"
There's nothing special about data types in Control Builder compared to any other language. They are just user defined data types - although in this case the designers of the MOT function already made that definition for you so you dont have to.
The data types you mention are just useful for connecting to the MOT function. So the Motor function block parameter expects uou to use a variable of that type. ( Note, Function Blocks or Control Modules are just classes in a language like C and when you put one in your program it becomes an Object just like any other object orientated language )

This is for compact control builder, but 800xA is exactly the same. The manual ( for either compact or 800xA versions) should already be on your PC where control builder is installed
Honestly I REALLY REALLY recommend the ABB training courses for someone like you who is just getting started in Automation if you dont have any experience programming PLC's. Here is a link to the E-learning courses
