Link custom faceplates to objects
We want to use custom faceplates as pop-ups when you click on an object. How do you link a custom faceplate to a named object?
I have tried to link it with the Graphic Symbol tool and link it to an action. But when I select show faceplate my custom faceplates won't show up.
when selecting the action "Show Faceplate" you also need to provide a Tagname for the faceplate to show. Press F2 in the input field and select the faceplate type you have created on the left side. Select the instance to show on the right side. Press OK and you are done.
Having read your previous question, let me point out that creating a user defined faceplate under the P-FB object is a type definition. You need to instantiate at least one instance to be able to select a faceplate for your action. Instantiation is done by using the user defined function block FB-FBD inside a program. If you haven't created a user defined function block (type) yet, insert a FB-FBD object under the FB-Class that holds your user defined faceplate FB-FPL. Then double click on the FB-FBL and configure a dummy program with the FBD editor.
To instantiate that FB-FBD insert it into some other program. If that other program also uses the FBD-Editor just right click, select Blocks/User function blocks... and then your FB-FBD from the list. That creates an instance. You need to configure a name for that instance which will be used to select the faceplate to show in the "Show faceplate" action in your graphic.
