We are having ABB DCS 800xA, very frequently we are facing a problem with runoff signal acting and tripping boiler
During the month of oct-2014 to till date and earllier also we are facing the problem with motor's. Very fequently our boiler is getting trips with neusence trip like motor's is tripping and a event is recorded as motor tripped on runoff signal.
But how to know what are the reasons and conditions for runoff signal.
For your reference attached the screen shot of events.
The screen shots you supplied look like you are using the Pulp & paper Library MOT fuction blocks for Motor Controllers.
If Iremember correctly, the "Run Off" means that the Run Signal turned Off unexpectedly i.e. the motor was not commanded to stop by the DCS but the motor run signal went to zero. Check that the Primary Air Fan does not have any external interlocks wired directly to the Drive. Check also for wiring faults. If the drive is connected via profibus, check also for profibus errors.
However, you also get an "IB2 Off" at the same time. The AE messages from the blocks are not synchronous, so it is quite possible that the IB2 interlock occurs before the Motor Stop and is the root cause of your problem. There should be a description of "IB2" on the object display for the Primary Air fan, otherwise you will need to read the code.
