We are experiencing a problem with one of our project files that runs on freelance 9.2.
when trying to delete a variable in the variable list the project crashes with the following error message:
Control Builder F detected a problem with the configuration database.
A Database recovery has to be executed n o w! Please close the project
Therefore exit the configuration or commissionijng mode by command Project/Exity.
thereby entering the project entry screen.
Here you must select the Project/Close commande (do not use the Project/Save command!). You will be asked to save the project then.
There is no need to close Control Builder F also.
Afterwards you may re-open the project. The database recovery will then be started automaticly.
There is a high probability that all content can be restored, with the exception of you very last changes."
And after that all you can do is close and restart. We have tried repairing the installation from the 9.2 CD but the problem remains. We have also tried moving the project to another computer without luck (same outcome).
New variables can be created and deleted (with exception of defined variables that can´t be created), but old ones can´t be deleted.
is there any way to repair this? it will take a very very long time to recreate the project manually since it has about 18 000 I/O on 3 PS.
The problem is in Your project file, not the software. No change to the CBF can help it.
On the other hand we can work with the project file itself - have You tried exporting and reimporting the project? If not - try it now.
How about backups? Do You have any? Maybe there is a auto backup defined in the project - check it in project manager, as it could be useful.
How big is the project file (in MB)? And what changes were done to project before You got this massage for the first time?
One more thing: What do You mean by "defined variables"?
