Is there a detailed description of the 800xA History “Quantization Lane Compression” algorithms available?
We have 800xA History 5.1 RU2 configured with analog trend logs with a 5s sample rate and .01 compression. I was trying to figure out how the “Quantization Lane Compression” method works. I reviewed the SV 6 History manuals which has a good high level description but not enough detail to apply against actual raw data.
As an example here are a couple questions I was trying to answer for the attached trend data:
1.how the data point at 8:02:58 was selected to be stored based on the attached raw data. (compression error .01% )
2.What data points would be saved if the log had been configured with a compression error of .001%.
This question has not yet been answered.
