Yes it is possible.
But latest release of 800xA rollup is "C". See 9ARD124387-006 in ABB Solutionsbank (4 parts).
Before you get start with rollup setup I strictly recommend you to make full system backup of existing system and rehearse system update on virtual machine first.
That's because it may cause some errors in AC 800M user libraries after upgrade.
Most important points that you must consider:
- release all reserved entities (use 800xA Search tool to find all reserved entities)
- make bakcup of hard disks of IM server(s). I had expereince when IM server couldn't "up" after system update.
- do not load system extensions until you update all the nodes (incl. operator stations).
Read "2PAA106938-510_B_en_System_800xA_5.1_Rev_C_System_Update_Tool.pdf" (this file is located on RevC installation media, "System Update Tool\data") to get server update order and other instructions.
When all done run autorun.exe and follow on-screen instructions.
Good luck

Hi guys,
i am using 5.1 RevA and want to Upgrade to RevC as i am facing problems with my AC800M controllers, i cant do the full system upgradation as it need Plant shutdown,
so i just wanted to update
Engg Studio
AC800M Connect
and CBM
i want to do this only on my engineering Stations not in servers.
will it create any trouble if dont istall other components like Base, CLS etc..
after installation will it force me to download the new firmware to the controllers because i can do the firmware upgradation only during shutdown.
i want to do all this during plant running, will there be any problem ???
we recently migrated one system to last version Rev C,
the migration is automatic start program, it appears one window, that explain all the instructions you need to follow.
in the process you need to stop all the system, this is one of the first steps, and then the system uninstall some components and reinstall the new ones, after you need to do the same process in all the nodes.
Also it is necesary to update firmware for controllers.
