Difference between CID file and pcmp file?
Hello,
To configure IED ABB REF630 in 61850, we have to download .scd file to IED configurator and upload .CID file to IED. But what about .pcmp file, what are we doing with? I need more details please.

Hi,
PCMP is the project backup of PCM600/CET tool. There will be many SCL subnetwork inofrmation will be there , but not in SCD.
Hi,
PCMP file is the PCM600 backup of the relays. It may contain more than 1 relay also. If you have PCMP file then you can view the programming of the relay (using PCM600 for ABB relays)
CID contain the configuration of the relay. Here relay configuration (or programming ) is converted into SCL format.
For IEC configuration you ae required to use SCD file, which you can get either from PCM600 or IET600 (or any IEC configurator tool). For any IEC configurator tool, you are required CID/ICD file of the relay.
SO in short, open the PCMP backup in PCM600, generte ICD/CID file & use in any IEC61850 configurator tool
