AC800MHI Force Control Access Enable
Hello everyone. I'm new regarding SIL AC800MHi and I'm searching information about "Force Control" and "Access Enable".
My question is: why do we need to Force I/O? Does it help for periodically test?
Thanks in advance & sorry for my English, I'm French. Christelle CUNY

Hello Christelle,
Actually SIL AC800M HI is used for some critical conditions and for some major control area where those data should be monitored continuously. So They have made special aspects for the SIL access and Force control options for SIL controllers. The permissions will be given for some specific users ducring the system configurations. for more informations kindly go through the following documents
3BSE035980-510_en_System_800xA_Control_5.1_AC_800M_Configuration

Forcing I/O is the same as in non-SIL applications. The difference is, in a SIL controller you can set a limit to the number of forces that can be done at a time, e.g. if it is set to 2 then only 2 force operations can be activated at the same time. And, yes it is for testing and maintenance purpose.
