ACS 880, Mechanical Brake Control, for Crane App ,While moving down the Main Hoist motor it will move little Up
Dear All,
I have problem with ACS 880 Drive for crane control Application. For hoist motor while moving down first, it will move a little up and then start down movement, after the brake open.
I think this function is the reverse torque (44.09) which drive will give before the opening of brake. However, my question how much this value should be, if you put more ,it will move more in opposite direction, if you put less i do not know what will happen on heavy load.
Please any one explain me what this valve should be and any method to reduce this opposite direction movement

Hi,
44.09 is the source, from where the drive should take openning torque reference (if described conditions are fullfilled). The value is in 44.10.
And that is the minimum value.
So I think the drive will calculate itself the required torque, in order to have speed=0 at opening brake - look the diagram on page 73 of firmware manual, even you leave 44.10 = 0%
Other possibility could be to use 44.09=7 (memory of last torque during closing of brake).

HI, you are right, that the Source is in 44.09 (Brake Open torque Reference) the value is in 44.03(Brake Open Torque Reference), But the problem is that the motor is rotating around 25 rpm in Opposite direction because of this Reverse torque .When I but the 44.09(Brake torque Memory ) the problem remain same ,that motor is rotating at zero speed .
Please explain how to stop this movement ,without putting 44.09 to zero, because I need some reverse to torque for holding the load, And the load is varying every time
It is difficult to say without to know the parameters and look on the panel.
Could you check the following:
- 21.06 Zero speed limit - may be you should put 0.0 instead of factory 30. May be speed detection is not very precize - do you have encoder installed?
- what are the values of 44.02 and 44.03
Hi, yesterday I tried to put 21.06 to 10 and after that zero, but the response was same, motor is rotating around 25 Rpm,
Yes this the problem I think we do not have encoder. 44.02 (brake torque memory) 50%, 44.03(Brake open torque reference)is 50%.
For Id run, we did normal with gearbox and drum attached.
21.01 is set to constant time.
