WININET_TIMEOUT error for CLS
Try issuing the following URL in Internet Explorer of the machine where the error is observed; http://nameofCLSnode
"http://localhost" on the CLS node itself should work too.
CLS is based on the Internet Information Service (IIS) and the above URL should return the IIS "Under construction" web page; if not troubleshoot IIS.
CLS traffic is rather easy to tap and view with an Ethernet analyser, eg Wireshark. Compare what you see on this system with a healthy working one.
A common problem is an incorrect definition of web proxy server in the license client node(s). The CLS traffic must be excempted from being proxied, or rather the entire client/server subnet, eg 172.*
Equally, traffic to TCP port 80 on the CLS node must be open and not blocked by firewall, anti-virus software, etc.
Strangely enough, the 'Licenses' object under the Admin Structure has a different creation date than the date that the 800xA System was created.
We imported this object back from a backup and the problem went away.
Not sure if this is really the fix or it was fixed in some other way internally.
