IM logs in translating mode
I have seen ur previous asked question about translating logs, I have the same problem.
Could you please let me know how to resolved the issue.
It would be a great help for me.
Thanks in advance.
Question asked by you:
""I'm working in a 800xA 5.0 Sp2 RevC and some log are in "Translating" state and they appear as "Pending" in IM Active/Inactive table.
I've looked to disk space in the server and it's OK and "Space Quota" for flat files is OK too.
Can you tell what "Translating" state means and how to make those logs go to "Active" state?""

Logs continuously in translating is an abnormal state in 800xA.
You should be able to filter for them as pending logs using the IM Log List aspect
Whether you can isolate the logs in translating or not, you could do as follows.
1) Use Find Tool to search for Aspect Category = Log Template
2) Drag result to Consistency Checker tool
3) Check + repair
Repeat 1-2-3 also for Aspect Category = Log Configuration
All errors should be removed or logs in error be deleted.
Then run a database integrity check on the IM
C:\> hsdbmaint -checkDB
If errors are found, stop History services in PASGUI.exe and run a database clean
C:\> hsdbmaint -clean
I seem to recollect IM having trouble with special characters in Log Templates, Log Configurations, OPC properties, etc. so please try to see if the pattern of translating logs follows some unique naming of templates, configs, properties, etc.
During Process of Inactive to active, system put the logs into Translating mode, that depends on the number of logs in the system. This is normal. You can wait for a while and check again.
If only few logs not coming still not come to active mode. It could be some Tag synchronisation issue. Do the syncronisation procedure in the Inform IT window..
Try the following if it still doenst come up
1. Restart the PAS
2. Manual Synchronisation of Logs
3. Restart your History servers if possible
