Are you able to set an alarm class when you communicate alarms via IEC61850 to 800xa?
In the alarm handling in the IEC61850 OPC server (CET), i'm only able to set the severity of an alarm.
Apart from that, i would also like to set the class of an alarm, so the alarm will be sortet right in the alarm list in 800xa.
As far i can see, you are not able to set the class of a signal when you comminicate via IEC61850. Is that correct, or is there a solution to this, so i can set the alarm class of an IEC61850 signal?
The most preferred method is to implement attributes in the PLC and/or OPC AE server.
I can't tell if the IEC61850 OPC server support adjustment of the Class attribute.
If you can't set the Class in the PLC you can override it in xA - search AKS for the keywords "EAD" and "EAOE" and you will find out how. Just be sure to do it the right way (adding a new EAD instead of modifying the original).
Remember to properly document and announce the overrides, or else future engineering time may be spent in vain to find out why Class does not follow default/expected behavior.
In 800xA SV5.1 FP4, there are additional fields in CET OPC Server called "Area Name" and "Area Description". They will be configured in CET and these texts will be in the alarm message. You can use then to filter messages in xA later on. This is very useful, for example, when you have IEDs from several substations in the same SCD file, then you can have "Area Name" = Substation1, Substation2, ...
