800xa Bulk to d.iagrams in control builder
Hi,
800xA 5.1, FP4
As far as I know it's not possible to bulk to diagrams today.
When do ABB plan to make it possible to bulk to diagrams in the Control builder?
Or has anybody found a way to "bulk" control modules with parameters to a diagram?
I could not see the feature is added in version 6.0 - is that really true?

There is a way to combine Bulk Manager and Diagrams with use of Function Designer. The Control Diagram Editor within Control Builder M is focused on interactive control logic design. Control Diagram Editor and Function Designer are using the same compiler and execution engine.
With introduction of 800xA v6 limited bulk edit options are available for Control Diagrams utilizing the XML feature of Bulk Data Manager, where Diagrams content can be modified. For the bulk creation use case Function Designer is suggested to be used.

Yes you are right. It is not officilay supported. may be released REV E or next version of 6.0..
But still you can try it. It may work and it wont give 100% result. Still you can generate Contol modules using BDM for diagrams
We have used FD before. But I was investigating the possibility to go straight to the diagrams in the control builder with the bulk tool. That way we would skip the '2 times compilation procedure' FD requires (FD -> Diagrams in CB -> Instruction code downloaded to Controller).
Also FD is hopeless to route in the diagram and in our point of view still needs some matureing before we seriously would consider it again.
But then again Diagrams in CB without the possibility of bulk create is also not a serious way for larger projects.
