Security definition and user structure
We have reviewed security in our 800xA System. However, can you give us more information about security definition aspects stored in the user structure.
In fact, there is an aspect for each user (configure permission). Can we delete it (the whole is made in the admin structure)?
Why is it built with a new user each time?
Thanks for your answer
Normally. users does not have write permission in the User Structure. But to allow the workplace to save Find Tool and navigation history for recall in a later session the data must be stored somewhere. Since every user would like to have his own private list of last browsed objects, etc. the storage place was decided to be on the user's object in the User Structure.
For process control related security configuration, you only need to include the Security Definitions in the structures the object is inserted to + the "default" Security Definition in the Admin Structure.
The 800xA system comes pre-delivered with a bunch of other Security Definitions regulating what user can add object types and make changes in various structures. Don't mind about them when working with process control security.
The Security Report gives a good overview (don't forget to hit the Update button before reading the content).
