The Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilites are a much bigger of an issue than Heartbleed and other recent threaths since they exploit on memory mapping level, below the operating system. Not only Microsoft Windows is affected.
Microsoft and other vendors have just started to roll out patches. The final solution is probably not known right now. More will follow.
These patches will be tested and resluts will be published on ABB Library and other places. Stay tuned!
