AC450 PIDCON to AC800 PidLoop Parameter Conversion
Voted best answer
They are the same scale and units. ( ie scaled process gain and seconds per repeat )
Be careful with D settings, the AC800M doesnt have separate derivative filtering so can make some pretty large output changes in response to noise. If you simply filter the MV then you will increase the response time (ie make the loop slower ) and this might give you a problem with the I setting being too small if its agressively tuned.
However, if you're upgrading an AC450, then you should really consider using the Pulp and Paper library. This has drop in replacements for all the Ac450 function blocks including motcon, valvecon, pidcon and all the assorted logic functions that dont directly convert to AC800M standard blocks. It also has object displays and faceplates that look and feel the same as the AC450.
