Trends not working in 800xA Client
I have a system with one server and one client. I haev configured trends and working well in Server. However I cannot see trends in client.
Trends status in clients is redish purple.
Do I need to some special configuration in client.
Trend is just a graphical representation only it could not save any data, so to get the values you have to create the log template(which tells how to store) & log configuration(It tells what to store) for the objects OPC properties with "history source" defined in the control str control netwok to gather the data & configure the history source to link to the basic history service group. Then map the OPC property of the log configuration to trend to read the values.
If you have confgiured above thing please check the following:
Then check the affinity if eveything is woking & read the log configuration values whether you are able to read the data & check the OPC data is updating in client, Log configuration is enabled & history source is linked to Basic history service group.
Please refer the selected sheet manual for reference but ensure if you are not IM server then don't heirarchical logs
When you say " I cannot see trends in client" do you mean you cannot see the trendline and values but the trend window is appearing or do you mean that the trend window is opening with redish purple color background. I idea is that if the trend window itself is broken then it is something wrong with the 800xA compatibility with runtime engines. However is the trend window is appearing but only values and trend line are missing then it more likely that it is an engineering issue.
It is better to attach some snapshots and system details.
The "Red" status indicator for the trend shows that the display trend client has failed to get data from the history service running on the server. ( A yellow status indicates the display is "waiting" )
If the trend display works properly on your Server machine, then the data is being logged properly and the history service is not likely to be the problem. So that leaves either your client machine or the connection between the client and server as place where the problem lies.
Are there any other issues ? Do your graphics work correctly ?
Trend displays do not use OPC, they use OPC History. Get an OPC-HDA connection tester ( not a DA tester) - eg like these ... http://www.advosol.com/t-freetools.aspx and run it on both your client and server machine. It should work properly on your server machine. It may or may not fail on your client. In any case it should give you some more diagnostic information.
