Basic History (the very capable basic historian included in the 800xA Base package) dissipates roughly 24 bytes per stored data sample.
A log with sample time 1 second and a storage period of 2 years will require roughly (86400 * 365 * 2 * 24) 1480 MB.
The Log Configuration aspect also present an estimate of all logs in the hierarchy (mark/click the Log Template name at top level):
Download the 800xaHistory size Estimation sheet from ABB Solution bank using this below link.
This sheet is having all the information required.
I hope this will help you
You can configure the Hard disk capacity by considering following parameters.
sample time,Number of logs,storage period.
Suppose if you are using
No. Of samples per day with 1s sample=60*60*24=86400 samples
then Size of Hard Disk(MB):((86400/5)*24*1*1)/(1680*1050)=429MB
