How to connect GE HPCI IO network which is on Ethernet in ABB system?
How to connect GE HPCI IO network which is on Ethernet in ABB system? We will not change the IO network. It will remain as it is. We only remove the HPC controllers and put our AC800PEC in its place. Can we use CI873 to communicate RIO.
HPCi refers to the controller - not the IO network. You need to tell us what sort of IO modules and Ethernet network they are using.
If the IO modules are using RSTi, then no - the CI873 offers Ethernet/IP and Device Net and is for Allen Bradley and similar IO Modules.
5 minutes on google finds that RSTi "incorporates" ProfiNet, so probably you can use a CI871. But without more details of your customers IO, I cant give you a definitive answer.
You're going to have to put your boots on and go look at specific part numbers. The Versamax Remote IO Units support DeviceNet, Profibus-DP, Ethernet and GE's own "Genius" networks. (It does however seem that they don't use Profinet.)
