800xA Alarm log configuration column width
I am trying to configure an alarm log to print to a generic serial line printer with specific column widths. I am using a long time format, 30 characters total. I then configure the Alarm and Event List Configuration, column with for Active Time at 30. However when the serial stream goes to the printer the active time colum is padded with 11 extra spaces. This makes the column 41 characters wide.
I have tried a very bad workaround by sizing the column to 22 and thing seem to line up but this is unpredictable (because of rounding can not always get the desired value) and difficult for the end customer to maintain.
Any ideas why the column width does not match actual character count when printing to a generic printer?
To create an Alarm Logger configuration for printing you can use the default aspects created for this purpose. The Alarm Logger Configuration aspects are defined in the Library Structure (Common Alarm & Event Logger Configuration,).
You have to do the settings in the library str aspect(Common Alarm & Event Logger Configuration) You can select your columns with column width, you can adjust as per your requirement.
& in service str you have to select the perticuler "common alarm alarm & logger configuration" in the basic logger service group.
Note:You should check the check box "skip control characters" else it will include all the control characters along with your message.
