Third Party OPC Communication using PLC Connect.
I have a requirement from one of the customer to use 3rd Party OPC( KepServer OPC) for data transfer to 800xA System(5.1 RevB) using PLC Connect.
System Used: 5.1 Rev B with Aspect/CS combined.
1) Kepserver installation perfomed in the Primary ASCS Machine as customer don't have the dedicated server for 3rd party OPC Installation.
2) Necessary PLC Connect configuration was performed like :
a) Selecting corresponding Protocol-PLCOPCClient Version 220.127.116.11 available.
b) Selected Local Host and also browsed and selected the corresponding 3rd party
c) Added the PLC Type like PLC_Short or PLC_Long etc.
3) Corresponding PLC Services were in Service Mode in service structure.
4) After adding new PLC Type , browing of the third party data was done from the 3rd Party OPC Server. Then in PLC Controller Type the Deploy aspect were selected and the variables were deployed.
When "Integer PCA" Aspect were selected and subscribed for live data for reading the 3rd party values then observed that all the OPC quality were showing as "Good" ,but still the value was showing as 0 even after the OPC Client were having some values in that same variable name.
And some times the Quality were also showing as "Uncertain" or some times "bad" also.
DCOM settings were performed by adding the System , Interactive ,800xA Service account user , Anoynomous Logon etc .
So please let me know if I have forgot or left any other configuration steps which is not showing the OPC Server Value from the 3rd Party PLC's??
Thanks for the Support in Advance!...
Please refer the attached PLC connect confiugration manual. But i feel DCOM settings are not required if you are using PLC connect.
