Use the Bulk Data Manager (BDM) tool included with engineering studio to export the "Name" and "Description" properties of every object into excel.
If you dont already have BDM installed, You need to install just the basic Engineering Studio components on to a PC that already has Control Builder and Excel installed. Use a Client, not a server machine. Everything you need is included in the base system licensing.

Please refer the link from page 43 to 71 you will get the idea of how to extract all data from 800xA to other applications like excel.
But keep it in mind don't run 1.multiple instance of Bulk data manager parallely which will impact the system performance.
2.Don't run the bulk data manger on system running condition it impact on the system performance
Hi,
BDM(Bulk Data Manager) is the best option available within the system.
Using Engineering workplace, right click on the control structure -> Section and launch bulk data manager. Export Name property for all the objects and can save this excel as a list of all the tags from your 800xA system.

I used last summer MatrikonOPCexplorer on the engineering-station (ES1) without installation. Fortunally was production down because flat-browse blocked ES1 for long time (up to one hour).
How to do it:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrikon\OPC\Explorer\OPCExplorer.exe"
choose server and connect it
click "add tags" and right-mouse-click to 1st entry "available items in server xxx" to "add all items" then it takes a while and you get on right part of window "Tags to be added"
change view to sort out via mark and delete. then validate items (4th icon in the small menue) and close with "File -> update and return"
back in the explorer u can export entire list with right-click on the group or mark tags in the right list. save as CSV and that's it. Sort and select with excel!
