Maintainence Backup Error: 800xa 6.0.3
While taking the backup, the backup is stopping showing the message 'Backup Stoped since AfwBackup Process is missing, Start a new backup'. Even after starting a new backup the backup is stopping at the same point with same message.

Looks like something makes the AfwBackup.exe process to abort.
Do you get any exception logged? C:\ProgramData\ABB\Process Portal A\Log\Exception...
If so, turn on Dump on Exception and produce a dump by running a new backup - then hand over the .dmp file to your regional ABB support center when filing a support case with them.
Unless you run out or RAM (check virtual bytes of AfwBackup with perfmon.exe, *NOT* taskmgr.exe) or any other critical resource I would some aspect beyond whats in the last written file causes the problem.
Do you have any older backup you could peek into to learn what (probably) come next in the current backup?
A consistency check could stir up corrupted aspects.
There was a backup problem corrected in a subsequent Rollup released for 6.0.3, please have the most recent rollup(s) installed before asking for a support case to be spawned.
