COMPACT HMI with Modbus TCP
Voted best answer
from attached screeshot, we can see Comact HMI support multi_protocols include Modbus TCP/IP

It is
not possible directly via Ethernet layer. You can implement it only thru HW level (i.e AC800M, AC500 or any 3rd party gateway) and read data from controller / gateway to Compact 800 HMI via OPC.
BUT GETTING STARTED MANUAL SAY THAT IT IS POSSIBLE:
"Supported Standard PLCs
All PLCs or field devices that are compliant to the following communication
standards are supported; OPC, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, SattBus and Comli.
The Compact HMI 800 supports connections to PLCs through OPC. OPC servers
are installed on the server node. OPC servers which requires specific
communication hardware and through serial communication channels needs to be
installed together with the hardware on the server node.
The amount of PLC that can be connected is based on the system load. There is no
hard limit in the system in the number of PLC that can be connected. The limit on
the communication is set to the number of signals communicated to/from the PLCs,
this limit is set by the purchased license"
It is a mistake in manual?
I saw also this information in manual / presentation, but thats all. There is shown only OPC possibility in the engineering guadline / manual. Do you have application installed or you only checking possibilities? There is possible to check it directly via Bulk Data Manager in Compact 800 HMI application.
Information regarding other protocols are highligheted together with Compact Control Builder application which is used for PLCs configuration. I have no idea whether exist any possibility thru this way (I´ve never seen this kind of solution / implementation). Sorry for no more info yet. I will try to get more information.
Thanks for your answer, I try to add one modbus TCP protocol, but i find that i need service structure to configure something for modbus driver but service structure does not appears, it is related to license, because ia have not one license?
yes, for Modbus TCP/IP link to Compact HMI , you should configure protocol service in service structure , and so on in control structure for protocol adapter.
For me , I do not have MODBUS TCP/IP device in my lab to configure it with Compact HMI,I could not provide you a perfect solution now. but last year I wrote one hands-on doc _how to configure Freelance OPC to CHMI. I think the procedure is the same.please see attached doc.Hope it is helpful.
first you should configure Modbus TCP/IP (third party) and run it .
secend, configure CHMI follow this attached doc.
Thanks for your help, now everything is ok,.
