.NET Framework upgrade to v4.0 or more
I have a 800xa v5.1 FP4 system running on a Windows 2008 R2 SP1.
I would like to install Siemens ProNetA on my terminal server. This software requires .Net Framework v4.0.
Is there any problems in installing/upgrading .Net Framework to this version?
Under services it appears that my current version of .Net Framework is v2.0
Will different versions be able to run on the same maschine?

800xA System Version 5.1 uses .NET 3.5 SP1 (which is basically Runtime Version 2.0). However it is supported or even normal to install multiple .NET Versions in parallel, so .NET 4.0 installation is perhaps not officially supported but running without problems ( i do have the same setup here...).
I agree with previous answers.
To keep full support stay with approved 3rd party software only (3BUA000500).
From support experience I know that it does not take much to "mess up" .NET in Microsoft Windows; PG2 in 800xA is very dependant on a sound working .NET
1. Backup often
2. Backup early
