compact hmi delay problemI
I have one compact hmi, it has one problem OPC data is delayed, the data are not updated fast (refresh) (it takes at least 2 minutes to refresh data ), it is necesary to restart PC to get data in normal update.
but after some days it fails again.
I increased memory from 2 gb to 4 gb, but it does not help,
I reinstalled windows and recovered one backup, but the problem persist
someone can give me some advice how to solve this problem
I don't really know the compact HMI, but I have some experience with OPC. Last time I had a slow HMI, i had a new Controller but no Information, that I had to change the Network Settings.
So, in my case I could solve the slow HMI Problem when changed the Switch-Settings for the new Controller to Auto Negotiation. (The old one need 100MB Full Duplex).
If it is in your case a network problem also, there must be some very strong collisions.
It is ~probably~ network related. When the problem occurs, what exactly is happening ...
- Is the returned data consistently old ? ( is every value returned 2 minutes or so late ). This could point to some problem with time keeping and time stamps in the system.
- Does the subscription take a long time to start ? ( ie a 2 minute delay before data begins) but the values are then up to date. This could point to a networking problem. If there is a problem making connections then the failed ethernet connections may need to "time out" before trying again.
When the problem occurs does it affect only Compact HMI clients or are third party OPC clients affected ? Does the problem happen on all the workstations ?
Some third party tools might prove usefull for troubleshooting ... http://www.advosol.com/t-freetools.aspx
