Send RTU data through the internet to a remote scada system.

Please have a look on AC500 PLC. It supports CANopen that you can use it for generator interface and IEC-60870-5-104 protocol for SCADA communication.

For SCADA please have a look on S+ Operations which has built-in IEC-104 driver.

IEC-104 is ethernet based protocol and can be integrated over a point to multipoint VPN covering all your sites including the central station.

Because of security there will be necessary to deploy routers and firewalls. There is necessary to clarify protocol (used for data links to RTUs from "central" Scada) and application description first (process control / substation automation - because of scada "libraries" for applications).
I do not understand what do you mean exactly with "web server" - id it possible to share more info? If there will be direct connections from scada system to RTUs, there is not necessary any kind of web services (data exchange is protocol based - standard thing).
In case of Scada for process automation there can be used i.e. 800 HMI:

In case of Scada for Substation automation there can be used i.e. MicroScada Pro Sys600:

RTU 560 has web integrated HMI. For this kind of solution you dont need Scada - web service is running in the RTU and you access thru HTTPS for web page with information. For more information regarding this topic try to contact local ABB office for your area (it is not my domain, but compare to other similar application areas there can be probably any limitations).
Hope this helps.
Hello guys,
thank you very much for your reply. I have 5 generator and each generator has a control device which can supply me with the generator information. the generator control can talk CAN bus and my idea was to connect a RTU that will get these information. Since each generator is used in an offfice place where there is always internet available. My plan was to get and gateaway which will supply data to a webserver. this will be done for each and every generator. And the scada system will collect the individual data via TCP/IP or http command or ... and display all these information. The generator are at least 20km away from one another and i am trying to avoid the usage of GSM or GPRS but use the internet which is there. If you know a better way of doing this, please, let me know. I trust this makes it clear.
To understand requested and propose right solution there is necessary to clarify also next:
1. What do you need to solve? Monitoring only or control + monitoring?
2. Could you tell me generators have any "control systems"? Which ones? Communication possibilities?
