TU814 or TU813 Base for AC800 I/O Cards
Any one used TU814 or TU813 base for AC800M I/O Cards with Pre-fabricated cables to termination unit.
We are planning for System upgrade replacing the existing Invensys system with 800XA+AC800M.
We are looking to keep the I/O base unit , and lay pre fabricated cable to termination units , so loop checking can be minimized.
I am not exactly sure as to what information you are requesting here, so if you could provide more specific questions, I might be able to help.
However, in response to your general question, yes, we have been using the TU813/TU814 bases on basically every project that we have done with customers since the early 2000s. They work very well and we have had a great deal of success using them.
Now, technically, you cannot order the TU813/TU814 with prefabricated cables, like you can for the TU812. As you probably know, the TU813/TU814 are each provided with three Phoenix plug-in terminal blocks. You then take the wire leads and attach a crimp on connector and plug the wire into the plug. Now you will set up the plug based on the S800 module type being used and the wiring as indicated in the S800 manual.
Now, for applications like you are describing, if we could not wait for the S800 bases to come in with the terminal plugs, or the plugs were already being used, we would order the plugs from Phoenix separately and we would then fabricate wiring bundles based on what was required as far as module type and cable length. We then pre-mount them to marshalling terminals and then simply plug them into the TU813/TU814 bases once they are mounted.
The part numbers for the Phoenix Terminals are found in the S800 I/O Modules and Termination Units Manual (3BSE020924-600).
The TU813 uses three Phoenix 1809792 (Alias: MSTBC 2.5/8/STZF-5.08) and has 8 Terminals/Plug
The TU814 uses three Phoenix 1808890 (Alias MSTBC 2.5/10-ST-5.08) and has 10 Terminals/Plug
The Wire Crimp used may be Phoenix 1879531, Phoenix 3190564 or Phoenix 3190551 - You need one crimp per wire being inserted to the terminal plug.
