We have 3 servers. Two of them are for DCS and other one is for QCS. We have 6 work stations. How to set same time?
Is your QCS an AC800 or an AC450 ? I'm going to guess its an AC450 otherwise this question is pretty trivial. (ie read the manual )
The Advant controllers cannot properly set Daylight Savings Time, so usually the choice is to either make one of your AC800Ms or your Domain Controller the Time Master. The ABB Guides will tell you to use the AC800M controller because the controller clock is more accurate.
However, if you have any external systems ( like say a historian, link to company database etc) you can find the the time does still drift - so in this case I suggest you synchronise your Domain Controller to the company network using NTP (Network Time Protocol) and then use the DC as the time master for your DCS network, and the AC800M Connectivity servers as master for the AC800Ms
See the 800xA for Advant Manual (3BSE030340) Section 2 for details on configuring advant time synch. Configure the Connectivity Server RTA to be a clock master for the MB300 and the AC450 to be a time slave by modifying the CLOCK_SYNCH elements. Remember to back up the RTA board after you modify it.
