Alarms and events
I have a combined redundant Aspect connectivity server 800xa 6.0.3
1st the alarm manager service in 2nd server is synchronizing but not in service
2nd i have made a modification in the logic library in control builder by increasing the characters length of the message display of the alarm list after increasing it to35 double the previous character the opc alarms and event in both servers chrashed and alot alarms appeared then no alarm and event any more. the status in opc at tap alarm and event is no connection in both servers i disabled the event collector for the 2nd server i am getting now alarms and event however the the status in opc in alarm tab is disconnected
i refreshed the opc by using system variables and deleted the services group and created them again by no responses
Shall I interpret the issue as the AC 800M OPC Server is unable to connect the controller(s) over Alarm & Event but have no issue with Data Access?
Have you checked the session.log file of the OPC Server (a link/shortcut is available in the OPC Server Panel app)?
The AC 800M has a setting, I believe it is called ”Named Value Items” which, if it is left at default or set too low in combination with a too large alarm configuration may prevent alarm and event from being generated/collected by the OPC server.
Also check the controller log and System Event List for errors and warnings in combination with download.
