800xA with single tag licensed and redundant OPC server
Hi, what is BoM for required tech.specification for single ASCS (no redundant tags, physically 1 HP server) and concurrent requirement for redundant OPC server which is intended for communication interface with 3rd party system ? Primary 800xA OPC server will be hosted on single ASCS, secondary 800xA OPC server will be on separate PC.
Q: 1. Will OPC server redundancy work in such configuration ? 2. If yes, what is BoM for such configuration ?
With single tags you are only permitted to configure singular 800xA services (=no automatic failover if first server/service stop delivering data)
Few (none?) OPC servers in the 800xA suite need a dedicated license seat; but there used to exist a license option like "3rd party OPC connection" that is supposed to be purchased if delivery of data to 3rd party is required.
That said; you can install two or more AC800 OPC Servers with only singular tags; each OPC server need a dedicated PC to run in though. Clients can connect directly to the OPC servers or via 800xA (for security/auditing). However; only singular (non-redundant) service groups are permitted.
