Aspect Server, Aspect Directory Service, continually synchronizing.
After a Acronis restore was done on Aspect Server 2 (2oo3 redundant system) the aspect directory does not reach the service state.
It keeps moving between service and synchronizing, about 15 times per second.
We've tried restarting the server hardware. Stopped and started the system in the configuration wizard, and did a cold reset on the Aspect Directory service of the Aspect Server.
Nothing seems to help.
Has anyone seen this before and how did you fix it?
Please check is there your present system is updated with any rollups, than your acronis backup.
Normally while taking acronis backup used to take entire backup of " c Drive" , After resoring the same in system, you have to delete the xA system in the restored computer as it is Aspect server.
Means- the server will be with xA only, then you have to connect the same to your AS1 as redundent AS server.
Then it will sinc with your AS1.
Make sure while connecting The "C drive Shoud not contain these folders, OperateIT data, OperateIT Temp,
How did you bring AS2 back?
Try execute the follow sequence of commands for the AS2 service provider: Suspend->Cold Reset->Run.
Synchonizing will take a while.
Please also determine that the aspect directory is in normal state or require repair. This can be done by giving the follow command from the command prompt tool: afwsysinfo -csd
By the way:
-what kind of changes were made in the system after backup AS2 node? Did you create any new service group in the service structure or any new control network in the control structure?
- (as was mentioned already) did you install any update package for the 800xA system?
The answers on these questions can help to determine the problem roots and solve it.
You may try to rebuild the Aspect Directory. (in the same way as if it is too fragmented)
1.) Stop Aspect Directory Service Provider on AS2
2.) delete (or rename) ...\OperateITData\AspDir on AS2
3.) Restart Aspect Directory Service Provider on AS2
4.) Rebuild will take some time, then you should be on "Service" state
