SmartClient 2.2RevC RU2b how to add multiple servers to single data provider
I am trying to connect 3 smart client servers (windows 8.1 based PCs) to a Smart client data provider (800xA 6.0.2 system node). While it is working fine for single server, other two servers are not working. While installation of data provider on the 800xA node, I have provided IP address of the 1st server which is working. How do I configure multiple servers? The data provider and all servers are on same network IPs.

There are three types of nodes associated with Smart Client. The Smart Client Server, which will direct all communications to and from the Smart Client Data Providers and the Smart Client, client application node. The Smart Client Data Providers, which can be resident in either/or both, the Connectivity Server, (typical) and the IM/800xA History node. Last is the actual client node, which is typically outside the 800xA Network. I have included a typical drawing of a Smart Client configuration. The actual location of the nodes can be different dependent on the customer requirements. License considerations must be considered when having more that one SC Data Provider node on one 800xA System.
I hope this helps.
I am not quite sure what you expectation is with attaching three Smart Client Servers with a single 800xA System, however, I believe you are looking at this in reverse to what was intended. In ALL installations that I have been associated with, the reverse is always true. One Smart Client Server can be made to connect to multiple 800xA Systems. The 800xA Smart Client Data Provider software, (there are actually multiple Data Providers in each interface), provides a connection in each Data Provider via the TCP/IP address, to connect to an individual Smart Client Server, and only one, (note the Command Line entries in each Data Provider). There is no facility that I know of to connect multiple Smart Client Servers to one 800xA System.
