Fault led on after power on
Yesterday our UPS failed then we give the LDB power to SMPS.When check One of our CPU PM864 found in fault LED glow on(Fixed).Later we reset power several time but not improved.Checked by hyperterminal found Boot loader program missing. We also tried to fimware upgrade 5.1 to 6.0 but fail.
Please guide me...
Not sure if this is repairable, just some thoughts to try:
-It is interesting why the network storm protection is logging while upgrading the firmware. You could try to reset the network settings by serial IP config.
-Did you try the serial firmware upgrade?
-I don't know if it is possible, but you could try to boot the PM864 without IO modules, communication modules and network. Don't forget to close the CEX-bus and Module bus with the terminators. Faulty modules could cause some strange effects.
-Is there normally a program on the CF-card? Try removing it and let it boot empty.
-Contact your ABB service contact if nothing helps, but you probably have thought of this yourself.
As I know, you can't upgrade firmware from CF. CF store only application (the project compilation). Is that a redundant or single CPU? Did you tried pressing of INIT button for a few seconds? Firmware of the CPU should correspond to that, used in the application.
F LED is lighting also if no appllication (valid) loaded in the CPU (no HW configuration).
You can try following - switch off power supply, remove backup battery (internal or external), remove CF. Switch on power supply and wait a while. Then try to load a valid project from Control Builder M to the CPU. In case it is successful, store the project on the CF. CF should be formatted with FAT16. For redundant CPU's you need two identical CF contents for both CPU's. Finally, insert backup battery.
In case F LED is still light and you can't download, try to connect PC serial COM to COM4 of the CPU (black cable TK212) and try to reload the valid FW (INIT button, then the usual FW serial upgrade procedure). Also check IP config
