Help... i cannot login to the OPC server!
I have being trying to trace a problem with time synchronisation in the 800xa system (5.4 )
looking at the time differences in the service structure i was seeing times jumping between zero to several minutes. this was traced down to the settings in VMware trying to sync time with the host machine as well as the intended time sync.
To resolve this it was necessary to untick the 'synchronize guest time with host' in the virtual machine settings. and for this to take effect the virtual machine had to be restarted. All of the worked fine on all of the machines affected and now the time difference are a maximum of 20ms apart.
Now my problem is that I cannot login to the OPC server! on attempting login i get the message 'The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship' re-ticking the above and restarting the machine dose not resolve this. so now i am looked out without a key i have no out way of getting into this machine no disc for password reset. what do I do?
Just for clarity: you have a windows vmware machine (the OPC-server), you want to login, but fail?
Can you see the curent time on the OPC-Server? Does it differ from current time?
Does the OPC-Server synchronizing it's time with the connected controllers?
(on Freelance it does, bad trap!)
What's the time on the controllers?
Is the OPC-Server member of a windows domain?
(The computer login to the domain fails if the current time differs too many)
Is the user you try to use a domain user?
(If the comuter login to the domain fails, the login of a domain user fails too)
Try to login with a local computer user!
If you need to reset the local admin password, you can just add a cd drive to the virtual machine and use a cd image like SystemRescueCd http://www.system-rescue-cd.org/
If i'am getting all wrong and the OPC-Server is a standallone pc, you can write the SystemRescueCd to a USB pen drive too.
