Get alarms from several displays in 800xA 6.0
I need to get all alarms from several displays under one object in function structure and put them in one Alarm List. Any idea?
Option-1, Create a new Alarm and Event List Configuration with the proper filter on alarm categories if all lies under specific types and then map it with an Alarm list on the object in functional structure
Create a Generic object
Insert objects for which there is alarm on graphics display under generic object,
Create an alarm list on Generic object,
Go to config view and
Select option objects and descendants
You can try objects referenced by aspect "Grpahic Display" option in Config view of Alarm list (i have not tried ...)
Hope any one of above options will help you.
Attribute or object filtering.
The first require you to set the alarm objects with an attribute, e.g. Class so that you can filter on it.
If Class does not easily change, you could theoretically invent a new attribute and add it using Event Attribute Object Extension (EAOE) aspect(s), one by one, by type inheritance, by object and descendants or a combination of these. Search AKS for EAOE for more info. Remember to document the use of EAOE - it is a rather unknown feature; it can even be used to override the properties the OPC AE server is sending - this latest use is no good practice in my view.
The second require objects to be filtered to be inserted under a common parent object, e.g. in the Location or Functional Structures.
The third, filtering via PG2 "display content" is possible in 6.0 and on the 5.1 Feature Pack train, but require you to build one common display with all these objects to be filtered upon. Theoretically, you could build a grouped super display containing sub displays for this purpose (this super group display wouldn't be used by operators for obvious purposes).
