OPC Server Panel
In my Primary ASCS (Aspect & Connectivity) machine, OPC server panel is not showing any controller (Yellow Smiley). Status is 'Starting'.
If i click something like File, view, Tools it gives some error message "The Action can not be completed because the application is busy"
So i tried to restart OPC service from services.msc(Dependency services are:- MMS & RPC). But im not able to stop/ restart the services also.....
How can i bring the status of my opc server panel to running (Controller IP with smiley). As it is giving error, im not able to touch anything.
Note:
All services are running in service structure, My only problem is with OPC server panel of primary server.
Opc service is now running through my redundant server. How can i bring the status of OPC server panel to running without restarting server? (Running Plant)

Hi.
If "Stop Service" on the AC800 OPC Server service in the Windows Control Panel -> Services does not work you can try to stop its process via the Task Manager.
Normally, the service stop/start commands works well - and if 800xA is running on top; a new AC800 OPC server service instance will startup very shortly again as the OPC DA Connector will continously to reconnect if contact was lost when you stopped the OPC server.
I've seen similar problems when the OPC service has stopped or crashed while the OPC Server Panel has been open - like the panel could not handle that the OPC server restarted or crashed.
You should also check the OPC Server's session.log and some of the "old" files to ensure that you are not having an ongoing problem with the OPC server or connection issues with one or more of the connected controllers. The session log is stored in the working folder; C:\ABB Industrial IT Data\Control IT\OPC Server\... - the OPC Server Panel has a shortcut to jump to the most recent (active) session log file.
If in doubt, please don't hesitate to contact your regional ABB support center.
