Communication of CI830 with Freelance Controller
Find required .gsd file according to hw version @ http://www.abb.com/product/seitp334/4f9f2db009eb1593c1256ecc006ea0ac.aspx
Insert Progibus master CI930F/CM772F > Porfibus master > select profibus slave gsd based and then import ci830 gsd. Download associated app here for s800 i/o using gsd using ci840 in documentation you can find details how configure i/o's via gsd. procedure is same for ci840/ci830. however you can find those details in online help also in CBF.
Hope that helps
Answer to question comments,
YES, you can. It doesn't matter which cluster modem you have as drive is profibus DP device and not communicating via CI8xx modules like S800 I/Os, drive sits on profibus network with separate slave address. But the catch is if you are extending your profibus network further from CI840A/CI840 module and drive is not having redundant profibus port user need to use RLM(Y-link 2 to 1) device.
Hope that helps.
